Our company is forcing almost everyone to become remote and has closed down probably half of its office space. Now when you come in you don't have an assigned desk and they will just expect everyone to find a desk. I am also of the opinion that the writing is on the wall. I live in a HCOL area and have no doubt that remote workers in other places will eventually replace me.
