Are you referring to the ADE 651? I wasn't aware that it was sold to the US military.
- voxic11 5y agoThat particular device wasn't. But other very similar devices have been purchased by the US military. > The Navy's counterterrorism technology task force tested Sniffex and concluded "The Sniffex handheld explosives detector does not work." Despite this, the US military bought eight for $50,000. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sniffex https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sniffex
- jamal-kumar 5y agoOh yeah, not that one but the history of this fraud goes BACK some years. Check this little piece of inspector gadgetarianist nonsense that goes all the way back to 1996 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadro_Tracker https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadro_Tracker I don't really know what the people who make these are thinking, it seems like a really bad idea to me to scam the only people who can themselves legally go after and detain you Couple of other examples: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpha_6_(device) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpha_6_(device) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GT200 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GT200
