Bye Bye Travis CI
- mssundaram 5y ago> Services come and go. I've been thinking about this over the past year. To be a software company and last more than five years you seem to need to either have very high buy in (e.g. health tech, as health systems move very slowly and would be reluctant to leave your platform after migrating) or diversify - Github is eating Travis and Circle now.
- prepend 5y agoI feel bad for TravisCI as they seemed like nice people and were innovators in their space. But it’s tough to compete in the CI space nowadays and I think trying to squeeze a few hundred a month out of projects will not work out well. It seems like their market will be teams with specific use cases that can’t use GitHub Actions for one reason or another. So haxx.se should be free anyway since that’s not their market. The bad PR is a whole other issue.
