- throwaway4good 5y agoIt seems to be me that one of the key strategic goals of China's transportation policies is to avoid a growing dependence on oil imports while its middle class grows. Hence the promotion of electric high speed trains as opposed to planes, and electric cars instead of traditional cars. Really impressive planning and execution that we could learn a lot from in the west.

- abbassi 5y agoBut you are comparing an old empire like French with a nation that just gain its independence less than a century ago. If you update your statistics 20 years from now, you will be surprised.
