This is very interesting but I think culture is the key factor here as well. In UK, when I tried "to know what is going on in the industry" I was very close to be labelled as time waster.
- onimishra 5y agoI’m very up front about it - the first message I shoot back is “I’m not looking and I’ve committed myself to 3 years at my current position, but I’m always interested to know what moves if you still want to talk”. Some come back positive, some still try to win me over (surprisingly few) and a few declines when I’m not a potential lead :)
