Rail makes sense if your shipping across the country. Actually I would be surprised if anyone used trucking to ship from the East Coast to the West Coast since every shipping/trucking company I know already uses rail extensively to ship out of Region. When it's state to state or within a region, rail doesn't make sense since it won't save time or money.
