Bitcoin: Cutting Through the Bullshit
- okdjnfweonfe 5y ago> Secondly, Bitcoin can do payments extremely quickly and cheaply, on the lightning network. If you haven’t tried it, it needs to be seen to be believed. Okay, lets see it, I search for "bitcoin lightning client" on google, first client shows up at the bottom of the second page for me, it requires me to run a node as well?? I guess there is lists like https://github.com/bcongdon/awesome-lightning-network#applications https://github.com/bcongdon/awesome-lightning-network#applic... but I have zero idea which are safe, which arn't, etc. In addition half the apps are dead projects. I just want to buy a hotdog.

- jqpabc123 5y ago...you can not program the price of a monetary asset traded in the free market. Bullshit! Here is how you do it --- you create "stable coins" out of electrons and "loan" them to friends and cohorts who use these unbacked coins to buy bitcoin --- certainly manipulating (but technically not exactly "programming") the price. Who is doing this? The people who create and operate the supposedly "free market" --- the exchanges. This is an inherent conflict of interest that would never be tolerated in any "regulated" market. This is built around the fiction that "stable coins" are fully backed by fiat and it is pervasive in the crypto markets. More than half of all crypto trades involve stable coins.
