Show HN: Test How Adblocker Is Affecting Your Website
- stephenr 5y agoGiven how many ad blockers are available, not to mention customisation options, I’m not sure how realistic this can ever hope to be.
- zzo38computer 5y agoIf the adblocker is breaking something, there is the possibility that the adblocker is misconfigured; in the example shown there, that does seem to be the case (the user who uses a adblocker should configure it properly). However, note that in the example, the original page looks like extra space wasted; the one with adblock you can see the description in the screenshot since there is not the intervening picture blocking it. Also, some JavaScripts/CSS/pictures/etc might not need to be loaded (or the user might want to disable them), even if they aren't advertisements. Sometimes there is a fancy CSS or animations that you might not want; I know that I often find that to be the case.
