Being distant from everyone physically allowed me to refine my circle to those who really matter, and I'm really grateful for that.
I blocked toxic friendships, erased all social media, erased many contacts, cleaned up my inboxes, etc. I keep in touch with my closest friends and any other work I'm doing. I think it's a big sanity saver to do periodic social spring cleaning.
I feel happier and at peace.
- jokethrowaway 5y agoGlad it worked for you but you may not like it later. I stopped contact with all my friends years ago to save my sanity when my life become too much to manage. I didn't have toxic relationships. I slowly introduced back a few people and I now talk to 2-3 people. It was definitely out of necessity but I don't think it was the best thing to do. If I had enough "mental power" to tolerate talking to other people other than work and family I would have kept my relationships in place.
