Men and women in nonmarital heterosexual relationships in the US are equally likely to want to break up. Incidentally, the courts generally don't get involved in the later sort of breakup. If a for-profit industry were made for nonmarital breakups as divorce attorneys have made for marital breakups, I bet this discrepancy would narrow.
