You’re not making sense.
Is your beef with being referred to by a color?
Or, is it being referred to with an inaccurate color?
The video — and your post — seems to ask people to open their eyes and realize people come in all kinds of colors.
We’re supposed to say, “Wow. That’s so profound! How enlightening!”
Whatever. It’s an obvious fact.
What, then, is the point of the video?
What purpose is served by focusing on skin color?
Nobody thinks Blacks are literally black. Nobody thinks Whites are literally white.
- mwambua 5y agoYes, the problem is that I'm lumped into a group using a term that doesn't describe me accurately. > What purpose is served by focusing on skin color? I'm as clueless as you on this. Skin color is largely unimportant, and we'd make a lot more progress as society if we stopped focusing on it so much. Sad reality (at least in the U.S.) is that people seem to care a lot about what color you were fortunate (or unfortunate) enough to inherit from your parents. > Nobody thinks Blacks are literally black. Nobody thinks Whites are literally white. Awesome! Then let's use accurate terms! (If we must)
- lurquer 5y ago> Awesome! Then let's use accurate terms! (If we must) Great. Start with supporters of Black Lives Matters. Start with those speaking about ‘White’ privilege. Start with those referring to themselves as ‘people of color.’ This is the language being used by the Left. Endlessly.
