Question: can herd immunity be achieved without vaccinating children?
- aliasEli 5y agoIt seems unlikely. Children have a lot of direct physical contact with other children. Infections of children will frequently go undetected because they often don't show symptoms. So we can only realistically have herd immunity if all children have either been infected or vaccinated. (Also note that in some countries underage persons form a majority)
- AndrewBissell 5y agoAs far as I can tell, nearly everything about Covid herd immunity and whether it can be achieved under any given conditions (including 100% vaccination of the entire population) is entirely guesswork at this point.
