Anybody from Amazon know the backstory about why they really changed the approach?
This doesn’t really mean anything “thinking is predicated on what we believe will be most beneficial for customers, while also trying to give employees more flexibility in their work environment and lives.”

- rejectedandsad 5y agoIt basically matches Apple now. Im thinking it’s based on internal surveys (you do one every day when you log in, and there have been a lot of questions about remote work) and real estate costs - can accommodate more people with hot desking if two orgs don’t overlap their 2 wfh days.

- hairband 5y agoI think Amazon is having trouble hiring and retaining talent. Given the horrible covid situation in India, the L1 Visa pipeline must have dried up. And their reputation has taken quite a hit given all the stories about PIP and the political/toxic culture, so no experienced engineers wants to go join a place like that. I guess, this is them panicking.
