This and many more of his advice are very good for companies but suck for the individual.
I would say not to follow the authors advice because it will make no one reliant on you. It is also incredible time consuming and will only weaken your position.
This article is basically saying not to drive you car so much or else it won't be fresh for the next owner. This is corporate simping.
