As someone who works in tech for a decidedly not-tech company, I'm curious how this will affect me. I feel like my company has taken a wait and see approach, although they have been quite open in saying that 95% of what we do can be done completely remotely. Having Facebook say that anyone can do remote work will probably force them to do something very similar in order to attract and retain employees.
- avgDev 5y agoI used to be 3 days in office 2 days remote. Now, I won't do more than 1 and I'm not at a tech company. My boss is cool with this as I am quite valuable to them. Decent devs are in demand. If you are a nerd and know programming, networking and IT stuff the ball is in your court. I won't apply for a in-office position unless I am unemployed and cannot find employment for 6 months.
