Texas Republican asks: can we fix the moon’s orbit to fight climate change?
- hindsightbias 5y agoNow, lets not laugh. This is the beginning of acceptance that there is actually a problem. We have moved up from denial to something else.
- netizen-936824 5y agoStill feels like bad faith, as there is plenty of evidence for what is causing climate change. (It isn't moon related)
- jfengel 5y agoIt's still denial. It's just moving past Stage 1 denial ("it's not happening") and maybe past Stage 2 denial ("it's not our fault"). It could be seen as a form of Stage 3 denial ("it's not that bad"), if that's taken to include "the solutions are easy". Of course in this case it proceeds instantly to stage 4 denialism ("it's too expensive", i.e. impossible). I know you'd rather be optimistic about it, but when people move through the stages like that, they seem unlikely jump off of them. They can hang out at stage 4 indefinitely before moving on to stage 5 ("it's too late").
