As an iOS dev the hardest part for me to learn has definitely been how all the parts of the build chain work together: linking, symbolication, etc. Swift tries to be high-level but Xcode still relies on a bunch of low-level tools to build the app, and often you'll be diagnosing why `ld` failed for something. Pretty interesting stuff.
