Show HN: One place for managing all your collaborative work
- ramn7 5y agoHi HN, I'm Ram the creator of Queues and an experienced sw eng. Throughout my career I always disliked having my work scattered around so many places: mostly assigned tasks in the project management tool (Jira or similar), but also emails I need to reply to (or just read later), code reviews, Slack messages asking me to do something, my own TODO post-its/meeting notes and more. There was no easy way for me to reflect on all of my work, not to mention to easily understand what's the most impactful thing for me to do right now. Maintaining my own TODO list (either on paper or some app) had a too big of friction in capturing my tasks and finding my way from them to their source. So, I started working on Queues- a productivity tool made specifically for the team member (or: the individual in a collaborative space). Queues connects with the collaborative tools your team uses and creates for you a personalized feed of collaboration updates. These updates can be easily converted to tasks (converted automatically on obvious cases), which you can then prioritize and organize according to you own context. Eventually you get a unified task list including your work from everywhere- ordered by impact and filterable by context. Existing tasks that were updated at their source pop back up in the feed for reprioritization if needed. It also provides some productivity related stats. Queues is currently in closed beta but signing up using the 'ShowHN' invite code will provide immediate access (limited to 50 signups for now, if there'll be more they'll get access in the following hours to weeks). Feel free to ask any questions you might have, and of course I'll be more than happy to hear feedback too. Thanks for reading!
