- lapp0 5y agoCarbon capture technologies tend to cost more carbon to operate than they are able to actually sequester. Currently very much a pipe dream, especially considering that on a worldwide scale, the carbon equation is still overwhelmingly pushing in the worse direction (more carbon being burned, more forests being removed).
- wing-_-nuts 5y agoI think you're looking at a 'yes, and' situation. The IPCC's simulations just sort of assume we not only cut our carbon emissions but come up with some effective form of carbon capture. Without both, our goose is cooked, but we certainly can't rely on carbon capture alone.
