I was referring to the statements they made intentionally taunting AMC. That's not how you get people to come to the negotiating table. AMC absolutely did the right thing: they kept their mouth shut, collected the money, waited for MoviePass to fizzle out, then launched their own (presumably profitable) subscription service.

...and watched its stock decline from mid-20s when MP launched to under $5 if I remember correctly. Later it became a WSB meme stock, but that is a different story.
