This is a little random, but I had received stock as part of an acquisition, which I had to pay taxes on as if it were income. Now, if I sold that stock, do I have to pay taxes again?
- Negitivefrags 5y agoYou pay capital gains tax on the difference in the price when you received it, and the price you sold it for.
- rebuilder 5y agoPresumably only on the capital gains, assuming any. So if the stock was taxed as being valued at X when you received it, and you sold it at x + y , you'd need to pay taxes on y.
