anecdotally, from what i've seen at a passing glance and from past API use, in person events are like <0.00001% of FB events. no one actually goes to in person events, and if they do they are very large ones like concerts. ones that are not large ones like concerts are private events like small parties, and unlisted. you seem like you're looking more for eventbrite.com or similar type of service
