German virologist Drosten has his own theory about the origin of the coronavirus
- _Microft 5y agoAt least for our german-speaking users Dr. Drosten will be a household name already as he has been something like the public voice of reason during the pandemic. For others who do not know him yet: he is a German virologist and leading the virology department of the Charité hospital in Berlin. His area of research is novel viruses and he has got a long history of researching coronaviruses. For example he was the first to develop a test for SARS-Cov-1 in 2003 and his group also developed a (the first?) PCR test for SARS-Cov-2 in january of last year already. The submitted article is based on the following interview in German language if you prefer to read (or translate) that: https://www.republik.ch/2021/06/05/herr-drosten-woher-kam-dieses-virus https://www.republik.ch/2021/06/05/herr-drosten-woher-kam-di...
- Gravityloss 5y agoFur industry used to be subsidized but don't know anymore. I guess with end of subsidies in the west, production moved to China. I don't know anyone who flaunts fur nowadays...
- _Microft 5y agoI haven't seen anyone but some old ladies wearing actual fur coats anymore and who knows how old these might have been already but according to the interview [0] this article is based on, even fur collars of jackets are most likely made from the fur of Chinese racoon dogs today.
