To be honest it's not really "Android development on iPad", but more like "Android development with iPad". This setup doesn't work if you, for example, are not connected to your computer running IntelliJ. I'm not saying that it's bad, I'm just pointing out the fact that you still have a dependency which makes it kind of meh. You could probably achieve something similar (although in lower quality) with VNC
