I understand where you are coming from. Personally I think blockchain, in its the current state actually does worse to the status quo, and its inevitable. I mean, the ones that control wealth, now have a technology that guarantees their wealth propagates into the future (law cannot confiscate your crypto). Anyway, that is what is already happening in society. From the point of view of the technology I think the BTC paper is brilliant. Specially the hashcash mechanism invented by Adam Back and what it tries to capture.
