- perihelions 5y agoJust pulled 'new' and sorted the ages of new posts: 50 50 51 51 51 51 52 52 52 53 53 56 56 57 58 58 58 49 35 21 23 12 14 14 18 18 18 0 3 8 I'm guessing something happened at around t-49m (UTC 19:00-ish). It seems to be more stable if you're logged out.

- rolph 5y agoi have server maintainence messages in the banner very plausible explanation, so be patient until the corrections and administration is done.

- dang 5y agoPerformance was severely degraded for a couple hours. We tried a bunch of things, none of which worked, and then I suddenly remembered that I had pushed a trivial code change just before things went to shit. Reverting it made the problem go away. Doh! I still don't understand why. Sorry everybody! Edit: it was not for naught, though, because some of the tweaks that the incredible mthurman came up with seem to have made things a bit snappier than they were before.

- codegeek 5y agohaha yea. Always, always check if a code change was made in addition to checking traffic in general. It's always that one small damn code change :).

- busymom0 5y agoAny details on what the "bug" in the change was which caused the problem?
- dang 5y agoNothing interesting. I was experimenting with giving special treatment to comments that consisted solely of archive links.
