It's really difficult and appears to me to be deliberately obfuscated - the "opt out" on the NHS website is not the one you want, instead you want the form which you have to send to your local GP. And it's extra effort if you have children (make sure you understand the difference between type 1 and type 2 optouts, oh "and by the way the types changed and we're automatically converting the records for historical reasons"). Plus 'nudge' tactics are out to play in full force - I particularly dislike the pre-emptive strike at social media implying information there would be false despite there not actually being anything on there at the time (I say this as someone who loathes Facebook et al with a passion). I guess there's a lot of money at stake (there's gold in them thar personal medical records).
