Mmm, no? You can be on the dole or maternity leave, be a kid, elderly, disabled and everybody gets exactly the same quality of healthcare (in most countries including dental and glasses) It means that I with good salary pay a shit ton of money for health insurance to subsidize other people. I don't mind, I still think it's a great system (and I probably still pay less than US people because our system isn't rigged and hospitals don't charge $20 for a single Ibuprofen pill). AFAIK healthcare isn't tied to employment in Canada or Australia either.
