Alzheimer’s Drug Poses a Dilemma for the FDA
- pasttense01 5y agoNo, it's not a dilemma: the company itself shut the study down for futility. Then after exhaustively going through the data found this one possible result. But this kind of data mining will find these spurious results when there is nothing there. Thus the advisory committee virtually unanimously rejected this drug. Approving this drug would result in the government spending tens of billions of dollars to pay for a placebo. If the company thinks there is something there it should do more studies.
