Most effective Faraday-Cage hat design to avoid government spying
- rolph 5y agoif the tinfoil hat is not grounded it is now a passive reflector element. A Faraday cage requires grounding for operation, otherwise two conductors of opposite charge in proximity to each other, approximate a capacitor.
- h2odragon 5y agothe question of how to make a good travelling ground contact is a good one. RF strap down the legs to metal soled shoes; but then you have to train yourself to avoid walking on insulators (or live conductors).. and many surfaces would be very poor grounds even if you had decent contact. The best defense is a good offense: a broadband, high power transmitter worn near the skull; a "white noise" generator that will jam or at least demodulate whichever Evil Overlords are currently beaming instructions at you. Of course the FCC will object if you use such a device, which just goes to show they're in on it.
