Judge Permits Information from CIA Torture in Terror Case
- 1cvmask 5y agoWe have used torture domestically as well by the police. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Burge https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Burge “ Initial interrogation procedures allegedly included shooting pets of suspects, handcuffing subjects to stationary objects for entire days, and holding guns to the heads of minors. Jesse Jackson, Operation PUSH spokesman; the Chicago Defender; and black Chicago Police officers were outraged. Renault Robinson, president of Chicago's Afro-American Police League characterized the dragnet operation as "sloppy police work, a matter of racism."[19] Jackson complained that the black community was being held under martial law.”
- snypher 5y agoOften committed at 'black sites' such as Homan Square. This is the MIC chickens coming home to roost. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homan_Square_facility https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homan_Square_facility
- hedora 5y agoI hope this leads to a mistrial. Letting him walk would send an appropriate signal to people that condone torture.
- rolph 5y agothose invested with "authority" to torture should be subjected to the method[s] of torture so as to have first hand experience regarding effectiveness and exploits, similar to training for the use of pepper spray or other lacrimation substances. i beleive it would become evident that under torture one will say anything that gives pause to the torture for even one second [disclaimer: i am a survivor of torture]
- inadmiscoer 5y agoMaybe we'll write a nice letter. This is called coercion: when a person is under duress and being questioned, we should assume incredible. Here's an idea: You MUST include source and method in your written report. It is not torture to assign persons who are indifferent to torture to review cases of torture. You may not relocate victims of torture to US prisons: you must host them in your homes or send them home to their families. You must defend your predecessors from the ICC - who we don't recognize - who authorized cruel and unusual torture without due process of law (and Equal Protection of Equal Rights, per the UNDHR) Have another one. No leaders are liable for domestic or international torture. No leaders are trained in torture resistance. If only they were competent to stand trial now. If there is no liability for violating The Constitution - for cruel and unusual punishment. Group X: being cruelly and unusually abused for worthless "intel" Group Y: took an oath to do no harm (primum non nocere) and now they're assigned to help victims at taxpayer expense: Group Z: don't think that US law applies to them Group 0: Footing the bill, no liability, no concern for the unjustly persecuted martyrs What a loving, benevolent arrangement to have designed. Now clean up their mess; using everyone else's money earned through work. "Come handle this for ~me~ us_" "Me? I did that s for $0." "I work at a hospital, I have patients that depend upon me. No, I get days off every week and year." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coping#Types_of_coping_strategies https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coping#Types_of_coping_strateg... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defence_mechanism#Level_4:_mature https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defence_mechanism#Level_4:_mat... "Level 4: Mature"
- anm89 5y agoThe hypocrisy of condoning torture in the age where every micro aggression requires a public trial. But minimal outrage over our government literally torturing someone.
