- alpaca128 5y agoSame. Last Jedi felt like a stab in the back, and when I heard the end of the trilogy is even considered bad by people who liked TLJ I knew Disney Star Wars is a lost cause unless drastic changes are made. This whole debacle is a huge example for how not to continue an IP.
- paul7986 5y agoWell they have a lot to live up to ... i really liked Rogue One and of course The Mandalorian. Overall and personally am happy they are making new Star Wars content yet they probably should continue making films and shows that are outside of the beloved characters and use those characters sparely in other films and shows.
- alpaca128 5y agoMany productions in the SW universe had to live up to the movies and many have. Decades ago a single trilogy was good enough to kick off a whole Star Wars novel market and get one of its mentioned planets, Coruscant, officially adopted by George Lucas. Books like the Thrawn oder Bane trilogies would have been great material for films and much better than anything Disney put out so far. Knights of the Old Republic set the bar for how to retell A New Hope and makes The Force Awakens look like a sloppy parody. That kind of material would still not even out the hype, but seriously, Disney should really put some people who actually know and care about Star Wars in important positions, people who correctly see it as a red flag when a movie director isn't only tasked with making a sequel before the predecessor is completed, but also discards the previous director's story concept.
