"We were surprised to receive this subpoena particularly in light of President Biden’s recent statements in support of press freedom" I don't see how this relates to press freedom - the request has nothing to do with the journalists, restricting, or analyzing their sources. I see this the same as asking the library who checked out copies of a book... What I dont hear is USA Today touting that they don't keep records, if they're that concerned about privacy
