- cloudfifty 5y ago"The middle" is no position though. The middle in the US is and has been wildly different over the last 50 years. Both in the US itself and certainly compared to Western-European countries. An example would be that an old school democratic socialist since the 80ths or whatever shouldn't be seen as an extremist now just because the window has shifted so far to the right with Trump etc.
