- adzm 5y agoC# is really an amazing language. The open dotnet core ecosystem still feels in it's infancy - more web hosts need to have built-in support for asp.net core and etc.
- na85 5y agoIt's definitely come a long way. I have a pretty awesome setup for writing c# in emacs with "intellisense" and all that jazz. If I'm starting a new project from scratch I'm much more likely to reach for C# than Java, C or C++, or Python. It's too bad the ecosystem is so confusingly named. I found it hard to grok how everything fit together when I was learning.
- chrismsimpson 5y agoCLI dotnet (i.e. core) is the first ecosystem in my ~25 years of programming that actually delivers on ‘write once, run anywhere’, given a single click install/`dnf install dotnet`.
