Show HN: Post from Gmail to Your Blog
I made a tool to let you create a blog and post to it using your gmail.
What’s unique is that your can attach downloadable content to it to share worksheets, PDFs, or other such extras (maybe class assignments?) which your readers can download and use locally.
Link = https://moogle.cc
How it works -
* You sign up for Moogle
* Get yourself a blog on a sub domain of moogle.cc
* Write your post in Gmail. Include inline images, use different fonts and sizes allowed by Gmail
* Email your post to blogpost @ moogle.cc
* Some admin stuff explained @ https://moogle.cc/blog/post/1v6ouq/getting-started-with-moogle
* And voila! Your post is live!
Why did I make this?
I hate writing posts in markdown so I was getting frustrated with my old blog which followed the .md—>GitHub —> blog route. This method reduces the friction involved in blogging.

- Terretta 5y agoHave a look at Posthaven: https://posthaven.com/ https://posthaven.com/ Top feature is post by email: Post by email done right Email post@posthaven.com. Attach photos, music, video, and docs. We reply with your new post. Here’s how it works (well!): https://posthaven.com/help/post_by_email https://posthaven.com/help/post_by_email From the builders of Posterous after Twitter bought and killed it: > Posterous is shutting down as of April 30th, so it is ever more important for users to weigh their options and choose their next platform. > We created Posthaven to provide a perfect export option to Posterous users. Before this, we were key parts of the team that built Posterous in 2008 and wrote and designed much of the software. So far, the stability and durability have been as promised, approaching a decade.
- saimiam 5y agoWow, it’s quite similar. Do you use posthaven? Do you like it? How would you evolve a product like posthaven? Any missing features?
- Terretta 5y agoI’ve used it since before it existed, in that I used Posterous, and then migrated to Posthaven. I’ve been and remain very impressed with the reliability and deliberately thoughtful feature progression on Posthaven, all while remaining no muss no fuss subscription. For the feature progression, I recommend going back to the beginning of their blog, and reading the consecutive updates.
- saimiam 5y agoAppreciate the response. Will do what you suggested.
- BGthaOG 5y agoReally cool idea, and I dig the UI too. And also, that was a cool orientation post to link us to. Hope it goes well!
- saimiam 5y agoThank you very much! Hoping it finds some takers.
