Although I sometimes get around tedious file renaming tasks using Total Commander, I've found myself more and more often missing a scriptable/flexible tool that's reasonably easy to use and available on the platforms I work with (most of these, anyway.) So, I've put everything on hold for a couple of days and built this: https://github.com/citizenTwice/srnames https://github.com/citizenTwice/srnames
Ended up adding a few extra features like counter variables & regex. It's BETA, but I've used it quite a few times already without eh adverse effects.
The Sunday programmer code is not pretty (understatement of the year), mostly avoiding 'modern' features, with the exception of std::regex. I'm planning to refactor and clean it up, at some point.
