Music not for the birds, but of the birds; almost planned jazz.
Obliquely: I lived in an area with large corvids (crows). They were quite intelligent as demonstrated through their activities. (I once watched a crow sneak far into an automotive shop to steal sunflower seeds on top of a toolbox in order to share with their buddies.) Interestingly, I could partially discern a few of their calls, especially the specific call repeated as I was moving around that described what sounded like "a threat" and me in-particular. Birds definitely have a language encoded in their songs and their sounds; like some music, we just may not be equipped to understand it.
PS: I used to subscribe to LRB and NY Review of Each Other's Books. They should each be subtitled: "how to look like you might read fancy books if you leave these in your waiting room." I will hide my actual fancy books should I be mistaken for someone who reads fancy books. The SO unit (who is a unit in her own right) approves my trashy supernatural romance novels collection, so The Force is in balance. Don't look at my magical realism or existential sections... off with you.
