Chicken and egg problem ? None of my friends are using any of the smartphone bundled programs/services. Thus I can't send them messages by other than SMS. Once you go down the path of using one of these other services, there's a standarization problem. I'd go nuts after a while if I had to juggle Google Talk, MSN, Huddles, or even fiddle with setup to make the multi protocol messaging applications play nice. SMS is ubiquitous, and just works.
