What exactly is diversity anyway? For instance, me: 1/2 Mexican. Dad grew up picking cotton. Great aunts sister in law married Caesar Chavez. And yet, grew up with a computer, and access to tech, university, etc.
Am I a diverse hire?
- JumpCrisscross 5y ago> Am I a diverse hire? I feel like the problem started when diversity switched from a group measure to an individual label. Individuals aren't diverse. A 100% Black team isn't racially diverse. A 100% gay team isn't sexual orientation or gender diverse. Asking whether a bisexual Latina is "diverse" or a "diverse hire" should be meaningless.
