A new dimension in the quest to understand dark matter
- blencdr 5y agoThis makes me think of the loop quantum gravity hypothesis. It's sad that we probably won't find the answer in my lifetime.
- bluepoint 5y agoDepends on how old you are.
- SyzygistSix 5y agoWas anyone else annoyed that the "research paper" hotlink did not lead to the paper but to a list of "News tagged with research paper"? I was hoping I could manage to understand enough to get an idea of what predictions this would lead to.
- daxfohl 5y agoSeems so hopeless. So many dead ends that each can suck up a whole career. But presumably somebody will be famous at the end of it all.
- jlg23 5y agoIf all dead ends were as thoroughly documented as a scientist's whole career tends to be, we'd have a lot of dead ends less to re-discover again and again.
- edgyquant 5y agoIt’s not hopeless though? If they can devise ways to test for this fourth dimension then even if they find nothing it’s at least one more thing we know isn’t dark matter.
