It doesn't say Jews have an appetite for war, it says Israel does.
- gtf21 5y agoNo, it literally says "If I were a Jew I would be concerned about my insatiable appetite for war".
- happytoexplain 5y agoThe broader context makes it clear that he's using the terms "Jew" and "Israeli" synonymously. I think choosing the word "Jew" alone for the headline version of the opinion is unnecessarily provocative, but not outright wrong.
- gtf21 5y agoI'm sorry but that's just not borne out by the rest of the blog post, at no point is it clear that he is using the terms interchangeably. Furthermore, even were he to be doing so, that in itself is anti-Semitic, and the entire blogpost is full of anti-Semitic devices. Your reply is contradictory: on the one hand, in response to a direct quotation from the blog post you claim that it is "clear" that one can swap "Jew" for "Israeli" in that quotation, and on the other you go on to say that using the word Jew is "provocative, but not outright wrong", which implies that this post is directed therefore at all Jews, and that's basically fine by you in this context.
