How many western passengers want to fly in a Chinese plane?
- typon 5y agoHow many people in the West are not jingoistic morons who tie their identity to their country?
- rcpt 5y agoI don't think I've ever decided on a ticket based on the airplane type. At some point Norwegian had 787s from Oslo to Boston and I recall liking those but I'm 90% sure that it didn't affect my purchase.
- ghaff 5y agoSchedule is probably a higher priority for me but I'll make a decision based on aircraft type/available seating comfort within reason for a long flight.
- mikro2nd 5y agoWell, schedule is a priority up to the point where it's a 737-MAX on the tarmac... ;)
- rapsey 5y agoOk but will you if chinese airplanes start appearing in the airlines you use?
- iSnow 5y agoCompetition at least on shorter-haul routes has been on ticket price and time slots. I have little doubt Chinese planes would sell into the low-cost market. Maybe not into the thousands from the get-go, but airlines will have to keep prices down, and cheap planes is one way to do so.
- FridayoLeary 5y agoWell, after the debacle with the Boeing 737MAX i think this is less true then it once was.
- GordonS 5y agoGenuinely curious about what anti-Chinese bias would make you think like this?
- mbreese 5y agoWestern airlines aren’t the only market in the world. Even if you only see Asian or African airlines buy Chinese airplanes, that will still have a major impact on the balance of global sales (and the bottom lines of Airbus and Boeing).
- FridayoLeary 5y agoNot sure why you got flagged. I would be far less trusting of an airplane manufactured by the Chinese. For one, if they make any cop-ups i don't think their aviation regulators will be very... open, shall we say. Absolutely nothing against Chinese or anything, it's just that their government doesn't fill me with confidence.
- lelanthran 5y ago> How many western passengers want to fly in a Chinese plane? How many currently know what plan they fly in?
- rapsey 5y agoWill they start paying attention if Chinese made planes start showing up on their tickets?
- lelanthran 5y ago> Will they start paying attention if Chinese made planes start showing up on their tickets? I don't know; the western population currently has no qualms about getting into a chinese made car, talking on a chinese made phone, etc. When it comes to planes, people only take notice when some start crashing. If the chinese made planes don't crash enough, people won't care.
- rapsey 5y agoChinese made cars? Where?
