I personally prefer darker roasts as well, because lighter roasts are more acidic and sour-tasting to me.
- ziml77 5y agoTo me, medium roasts sit in the best spot. I agree that light roasts can be too sour. The problem I have with dark roasts is that in many cases it means the bean has been nearly charred. That ends up making it taste bitter and overly strong (despite actually having a teeny bit less caffeine).
