- ajross 5y agoThis was a famously bad CPU/cooling design, actually. LOTS of people complained about it at the time. You can place blame on either party according to your personal affiliation, but similar Coffee Lake chips from other vendors with more robust (and, yes, louder) cooling designs were running rings around this particular MacBook.
