SF Mayor: $1B extra to homeless
- baron816 5y agoThat would be about $50-100K per homeless person in SF per year.
- hintymad 5y agoI wonder how much homeless actually receive vs how much those so-called agencies and non-profit org receive.
- jschveibinz 5y agoMonthly Budget (basic, 1 person) Rent: $1.5k Food: $500 Health: $1k Everything else: $500 Total: $3.5k * 12 = $42k per year? Okay. $1 billion / $42k = 24,000 homeless people? Wow, seems high. Nah. Internet search says 8,000. But let’s assume 24k based on the calculations. Population of SF: 875k Note that percent homeless in US: 0.2% Percent of homeless in SF: almost 3%? Or 10 times worse than US average? If that’s true, then it sounds like SF needs a new mayor and a new city council.
