- swiley 5y agoAre you middle aged? I certainly noticed a distinct decrease in neuroplasticity around 24. There are things that are absolutely not possible to learn as an adult (such as perfect pitch.) I'm not saying Japanese is one of them though. (I doubt it is actually, as someone that learned a decent amount in their teens.)

I can’t detect changes in synaptic activity or neuroplasticity, but I can detect distinct decreases in mitochondrial efficiency in my cells.
