Google’s Core Web Vitals and changing search ranking algorithm is going to force the issue. As soon as marketers are all aware that “obese” websites are going to have penalized search, things will shift quickly.
- artful-hacker 5y agoThe problem here is that Google has a severe conflict of interest; those very same marketers are the ones who provide Google with its advertising revenue.
- rchaud 5y agoGoogle's own sites don't pass CWV. Amazon product pages will never pass them. Facebook is a walled garden and doesn't care about SEO. That's 3 of the largest sites in the world. Your ad- and tracker-ridden local newspaper website isn't trying to compete against them, and likely won't implement any changes.
