I had this issue recently. The workaround was to use the embedded video link, e.g.:
youtube-dl https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/VIDEO_ID_HERE
Edit: It seems to have been patched. I can't seem to use this method anymore.
- gruez 5y agoIME it depends on the video. I've encountered videos where the embed workaround didn't work, although I was using the youtube domain not the youtube-nocookie domain.
- alimbada 5y agoIt seems they've plugged the workaround. I tried it again and it no longer works.
- DoingIsLearning 5y agoI am not sure if it's the video itself or if we as 'anonymous' users keep getting in and out of regional a/b testing at youtube. As an anonymous user I keep seeing different behaviours with both 'forcing' embeddded links and also normal mobile links with latest ublock origin. (On Android with FF + ublock)
- npteljes 5y agoPatched indeed. I used this trick for ages, but it doesn't work for some time now.
