This is an open source release of the database with the highest ever certified TPCC result. Horizontal scalability might be a bold claim but they’ve got some evidence behind it.

- yftsui 5y agoOceanBase was open sourced but they deleted everything says it will no longer be open sourced. Now in 2021 they “open source” it again? TPCC result means nothing without context, Alibaba spent 54 million USD for hardware building the system to run the tests, in comparison 9 years before Oracle only spent 30 million. Winning a test with almost doubled hardware cost and obviously newer and more powerful hardware, does it really matter?
